- 十天干 (shí tiān gān) Ten Heavenly Stems – often used together with Twelve Earthly Branches (十二地支) in Chinese cosmological theories such as the Sexagenary Cycle where days, months and years are recorded in a 60-year calendar cycle. They are believed to be China's most ancient systems in marking the chronological sequence.
