In ancient times, to roam (漫游) was a coming of age passage for literary men. After spending their childhood years studying in schools or with great masters, they were encouraged to travel thousands of miles (行万里2路) into the unknown.
Today, however, to roam (漫游) is widely associated with the various packages offered by Chinese mobile networks. For examples:
