(zhe) -ing
Added as a suffix after an action to indicate that the action is ongoing
- 看着 (kàn zhe) Watching / Looking
- 听着 (tīng zhe) Listening
- 说着 (shuō zhe) Saying / Talking
- 想着 (xiǎng zhe) Thinking / Missing (thinking fondly of)
- 走着 (zǒu zhe) Walking
- 望着 (wàng zhe) Gazing at
- 穿着 (chuān zhe) Wearing
(zháo) Get into / Enter the state of / Become
- 着火 (zháo huǒ) Catch fire Literal. Get into fire
- 着凉 (zháo liáng) Catch a cold Literal. Get into chill
- 着急 (zháo jí) Anxious Literal. Enter the state of anxiousness
- 着迷 (zháo mí) Fascinated Literal. Enter the state of fascination
